    Red Lodge
Dating back over 400 years, the Red Lodge was originally connected with the Great House where Queen Elizabeth I stayed. Later, it had unique purposes, such as a reform school for girls, which was set up by social reformer Mary Carpenter. The lodge has a stunning room made of oak and an interesting knot garden outside. Live history presentations often take place on the weekend.

    Clifton Suspension Bridge

Built in 1864, the Clifton Suspension Bridge crosses the Avon Gorge and was designed primarily for horse-drawn transportation. The 1830s design is amazing when you consider that today, over four million automobiles drive on it per year. From dusk the bridge is illuminated and there are firework displays on special occasions.
